Oilers expect Darnell Nurse to be back for the playoffs

Despite suffering an injury in Friday’s playoff-clincher against the Colorado Avalanche, it appears that Edmonton Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse won’t miss any significant time.

“I think it’s just (rest and relaxation),” Elliotte Friedman said during the 32 Thoughts segment of Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday. “It doesn’t sound like they are so concerned at all. He will be ready for the playoffs, if not sooner.

“What we understand here is he’s not going on the road trip – they are going on a two-game trip to Columbus and Pittsburgh, they have got four games left in the rest of the season.”

Nurse suffered the injury during the second period and did not return for the third period against Colorado.

He has nine goals and 26 assists for the Oilers this season.

‘Ang Dating Daan’ founder Eli Soriano, 73

ELISEO “Eli” Soriano, televangelist and founder of the Members Church of God International, also known as “Ang Dating Daan” (The Old Path), died early Friday morning in Brazil.
