Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster said he’s ready to return to the field for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ wild-card playoff game Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Smith-Schuster had surgery on his shoulder in October and was expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Not so fast as Smith-Schuster was cleared to return to practice Thursday and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said he’ll be activated from the injured reserve.
“God answered my prayers [and] I’ve recovered from my season-ending shoulder injury earlier than expected,” Smith-Schuster posted Saturday on Twitter. “I can’t believe I get another chance to take the field with this team and play in a playoff game to keep our season alive.”
Smith-Schuster had 15 catches for 129 yards this season before sustaining the shoulder injury in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos.
